Cookie Policy

1. Introduction

Paskii Technologies Ltd ("Paskii", "we", "us", "our") operates paskii.com and the Paskii mobile web experience. When you use our platform — whether to post a task, hire a verified artisan, or sign up as a Tasker — we use cookies and similar technologies to keep things working smoothly and securely.

This Cookie Policy explains exactly what we place on your device, why, and how you can control it. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device on return visits, remember your preferences, and understand how you interact with the platform.

We also use similar technologies such as local storage (used by our Flutter web app to persist your session state) and pixel tags (used for marketing measurement). This policy covers all of them.

3. Cookie Categories We Use

We group the cookies on Paskii into four categories:

4. Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for Paskii to work. They are set automatically when you use the platform and cannot be switched off. They include:

  • Authentication token — keeps you logged in securely across sessions on paskii.com
  • CSRF token — protects form submissions (task posting, profile edits, payments) from cross-site request forgery attacks
  • Session cookie — maintains your active session while you navigate between pages
  • Escrow flow state — preserves your payment step if you navigate away mid-checkout
  • Identity verification state — tracks where you are in the BVN/NIN verification flow so you don't have to restart
These cookies contain no personally identifiable information beyond what is needed to maintain your session. They are deleted when you log out or close your browser (session cookies) or after 30 days (persistent auth tokens).

5. Functional Cookies

These cookies improve your experience by remembering choices you have made on Paskii:

  • Default location — stores your preferred task location so nearby Taskers load automatically on your next visit
  • Role preference — remembers whether you last used Paskii as a Customer or Tasker so we show the right dashboard
  • Notification preferences — stores your in-app notification settings between sessions
  • UI state — remembers open/closed states for filters, tabs, and panels

You can disable functional cookies in your browser settings, but some features (like auto-loading your location) will stop working.

6. Analytics Cookies

We use analytics to understand how people use Paskii so we can make it better. The data collected is anonymised — we cannot identify you personally from it. We currently use:

  • Google Analytics 4 — tracks page views, session duration, feature engagement, and user flows. IP addresses are anonymised before storage.
  • Internal event logging — records anonymised in-app events (e.g. "task posted", "bid placed") to help us identify friction points in the product.

You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

7. Marketing Cookies

We only place marketing cookies with your explicit consent. When enabled, they allow us to:

  • Show Paskii ads to people who have previously visited our platform (retargeting)
  • Measure whether an ad click led to a sign-up or task post (conversion tracking)
  • Exclude existing users from acquisition campaigns to avoid wasting your time

We currently use Meta Pixel for Facebook and Instagram ad measurement. We do not sell your data to advertisers. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser or adjusting your ad preferences on the relevant platform.

8. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are set directly by third-party services embedded in Paskii. We do not control these cookies — they are governed by the respective third party's privacy policy.

9. How to Control Cookies

You have several ways to manage cookies:

  • Browser settings — all major browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in or completing payments.
  • Opt-out tools — use the Google Analytics opt-out or your ad platform's privacy settings to opt out of specific tracking.
  • Clearing cookies — you can delete all cookies stored by Paskii at any time through your browser's history/privacy settings. You will be logged out.

Browser-specific instructions:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

10. Cookie Retention Periods

  • Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser
  • Authentication token — expires after 30 days of inactivity
  • Functional preferences — retained for up to 12 months
  • Analytics cookies (GA4) — retained for up to 13 months per Google's default
  • Marketing cookies (Meta Pixel) — retained for up to 90 days

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we add new features, integrate new third-party services, or when regulations change. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via email or an in-app banner.

Continued use of Paskii after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
